Recently i was told that Mix.com.my is now selling few new type of food at their outlet so i went and tried but instead of going back to the one that i usually go to which is at Mix.com.my | 米克斯 @ Karpal Singh Drive instead i went to the one at Icon City, Bukit Mertajam, Penang to hunt for these new food, haha !

The first thing that i would like to introduce is their Lava Bun or commonly known as Lave Pao here in Penang. The filling inside the bun is hot when served and the filling will ooze out like Lava.

There are many different type of filling for the Lava Pao like Durian, Cheese Bacon, Chocolate, Matcha, Purple Potato and few more but the one I tried are Salted Egg and Black Sesame with each cost RM 4.90 per piece or if you would like to eat more then you can try go for 1 box RM 23.00

There is actually nothing special about the Lava Pao here, the taste is good but really nothing to shout about but i like it because there are few different flavor of filling available. If i were to rate it, i would give it a 6/10 rating.

Now for the next item is the food that looks something like steamboat. I honestly don't know what this type of food is call in English but locals in Penang call it Lok Lok. According to Wikipedia, Lok Lok is a dish consisting of various deep fried foods such as meats and vegetables that are served on a skewer. But actually Lok Lok deep fried is not by using boiling oil, instead the one at Mix is using either Pork Soup or Korean Kimchi Soup.

There are few different types of food to choose from Mix Lok Lok counter and you can also choose the soup that you want.

I tried the Korean Kimchi Soup and the soup is ok, not too spicy but a little bit salty, probably because all the food is dip inside the soup for too long, just my assumption ..

Total spending for me on that day is RM 18.80 for two Lava Pao and a bowl of Lok Lok. Well, the price of Lok Lok depends on the amount and type of food that you order.
